To celebrate our 100 member count, the staff team of SGology hereby are opening up and listening to our members! You may request new changes or something special which you want to say in Version 2, which is expected to be released somewhere is Febuary.
You may request for new boards to post in, for a nice little tagboard or even for a radio station! It's YOUR say!
The staff team would then discuss about the proposed suggestions thoughtfully and carry out those which we think are good. Then the member who suggested that will receive an additional 5 karma. (Wow.)
So, isn't this killing 2 birds with a single stone? Drop your suggestions now!

Me! Me! Me! I want the 5 karma! Hmm... I think we should eliminate all inactive boards or move them into the archives so as to allow members and guests to view the boards in interest. No point having so many boards but ppl here are not interested to post in them. In the end, it'd look like only spamming.
We should have a radio station here. I had one when I previously operated my forum. It was great. Ppl are more active and they look forward to listening to the broadcast.
We could try to have more boards which are there to help ppl solve realistic problems and discuss about issues that interests them, such as the Aunt Agony board and General boards. Maybe boards like 'Blog', where ppl can post things about themselves and others can view and comment.
I would like to see more events going on here, such as a dance or some sort, whereby this forum not only consist of the discussion-type of conversations, but also role-playing. Members could role-play different characters or even themselves during these events and make-believe situations. It could be fun, just like cosplay. Featured members should also be given more emphasis, such as addition of karma, etc.
We should also try to encourage existing members to be active. Maybe we should give rewards for activeness and educate those who don't know how forums operate.
How about it?

Thank you for your suggestion, Princess. It has been well thought over and I have to say some of the suggestions are really great and we might consider carrying them out but also, there are some which would bring about other problems for which I am bringing your attention to.
1. Eliminating the boards - I think so too since there are many boards which aren't really active just like Cars and Travel. How about giving them one more try by combining them with one another to save space on the main forum page but still give members the opportunity to post within these boards instead of completely removing them?
2. Radio Station - it can be done but 1 thing. Do bear in mind that everytime you click on a certain link, the link would bring you to another page which means everything will be reloaded, including the radio. And this can be rather irritating to some other members who might not be keen on listening to the radio. However, I do have a resolution to the above mentioned problem. We could try having a board specially for the radio only which means, members who want to hear the radio would visit that board and those who prefer not to, shall not enter that specific board. This way, we can cater to both those who want to tune in and those who do not wish to eh? Worth considering.
3. Realistic Boards - I think Aunt Agony, My Home and General Board is already sufficient unless our member count grows rapidly over the months to come, then we might need to have more boards concentrating on these similar realistic situations. However, I do feel that a board for members to post about their day (Blog) is an excellent idea. It shall be given due consideration.
4. RolePlaying Boards - This is a big No, no for me. I personally don't really fancy the idea because I feel this can get really complicated at times like on what content should the RP be based on? How do we know we will play what character if we decide to use my Screen Name (PrinCeiFieD) instead of my character's name (Harry) right? If you insist on this, the staff shall have a poll in the staff board. Do let me know if you are still keen after I have pointed out these problems to you.
4. Encouragement - Indeed, the staff team have always put our members before everything else and everything we do is for the good of our members. That's what this thread is for. We want to know if they are satisfied with everything so far and if there are any changes they would like to see within the forum itself. About loyal member benefits and rewards, please start a new thread in the staff board for all staff to discuss on this because I want to keep this from the members so as to give them a surprise instead of listing it down here and spoil the fun.
Once again, its a great post and you've been of help. We really appreciate it. =)

To be honest with you, we are actually planning to operate so as to allow members to trade their second hand goods here but please bear with us as we get everything out in order. =)
Also, I might think Princess will want to explain about her suggestion in detail after you have pointed out that minature problem. Personally, I think posting the whole entry here instead of the blog link can help other members to navigate easier instead of having to load your blog. Still, you can have the link in your first thread then your entry to follow thereafter. This way, members can leave you small notes and comments unlike some blogs which doesn't allow it. And yes, you'll have a thread dedicated to you for posting about your daily life. However, you have no obligations as in you have to post everyday and such, we'll leave this to your own discretion.

I hope V2 doesn't come around that fast?!! Lotsa great suggestions in this thread but what we really need are active members (myself not included ). No point having a radio station and a blog board if there's no one to post right?

Actually having too many topics might be a bad thing.
Having too many topics diultes the 'theme' of the forum and, especially when the forum is still young and lack the numbers, cause people to be bewildered and not to know where to go.
Oh well, my two cents, it's a minor concern and only applicable while the forum has very few members.

So it applies here then? Sigh. I understand that but having too little topics will affect the forum too mainly because members cant find topics in which they are interested in and thus thinks that the forum isn't "right" for them, thus, leaving the forum for good. What I need now is for more members, from different walks of life so that if they'll start topics they are intersted in and thus, help the forum by inviting people who have the same interests as them.
Also, having too many topics might not exactly be a bad thing because different people have different interests and thus, they might be looking for sometihng which hasn't been posted here and leave the forum as well. So I always believe in everything we do, we have to be moderate! MODERATION!
